Musicians Fund The San Francisco Lyric Chorus Musicians Fund helps cover the expense of hiring professional intrumentalists and singers. This summer the San Francisco Lyric Chorus is performing a variety of hymns of praise, or Te Deums. These glorious, dramatic pieces require a full, rich sound so we are drumming up support for the Musicians Fund to hire a timpanist. Your tax-deductible donation to the Musicians Fund will allow us to collaborate with the talented timpanist Allen Biggs. Allen Biggs has a Bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University, where he is now an instructor, and a Master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He is the principal percussionist with the Santa Rosa Symphony. He performs with the San Francisco Opera, the Bay Area Jazz Composers Orchestra, and the California, Marin and Napa Symphony Orchestras. He has provided percussion for the San Francisco Lyric Chorus a number of times, most recently for our Spring 2007 presentation of Kaleidoscope: Different Cultures/Different Voices.
